Putting their faux social media feud aside, Ryan Reynolds posted a heartwarming tribute to Hugh Jackman after the actor received major recognition from his native country, Australia.
Jackman was recently recognized with the Order of Australia medal for representing the country in his contributions throughout his long career as a public figure. Reynolds took to Instagram to give his real-life BFF a shoutout as he posted a photo of Jackman which he captioned:
āReceiving the Order of Australia is a HUGE deal.ā
The photo shows Jackman wearing the prestigious medal around his neck as he looked dapper in a blue tailored suit. Reynolds then sang praise for him writing: āAnd despite what I tell anyone whoāll listen, Hugh Jackman is one of the finest, kindest, hardest working, generous and most talented people Iāve had the privilege to call my friend. Thereās nobody better.ā
Despite his kind words Reynolds still managed to take a playful jab at The Greatest Showman star. āNone of this changes the unfortunate fact heās a complete bastard,ā the actor added.
Jackman and Reynoldsā friendship dates way back. In 2015, the pair started an amusing and long-running fake public feud that started when Jackman posted an Instagram clip of Reynolds while the actor impersonated him under his Deadpool get-up. It recently went so far as too reach Reynoldsā first Deadpool film where a scene shows the merch having a cut out of Jackmanās face stapled onto his.
Since then, the pair have been taking hilarious jabs at each other with one of their good pals Jake Gyllenhaal occasionally getting thrown into the mix.
