Rihanna on why she’s taking a pass on the Super Bowl halftime show

Rihanna is taking a hard pass on next year’s Super Bowl halftime show and the songstress has a pretty good reason why.

The Fenty Beauty founder is definitely one busy bee as she builds an empire off of cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie. So it’s not hard to imagine why Rihanna isn’t up for performing on the Super Bowl halftime stage. But Riri has got a couple of reasons more behind it.

Rihanna spoke to Entertainment Tonight at her Savage X Fenty fashion show held at the Barclays Center in the City of New York. When the entertainment outlet asked why the show is off her radar, the songstress says: “I still got an album to finish.”

The Grammy-winner then quipped “You gonna ask me about Super Bowl? My fans about to have my neck.”

So yeah, lest we forget, the recording artist boycotted this year’s Super Bowl in an effort to support Colin Kaepernick and his protest against police brutality. Rihanna was reportedly approached to headline the show which she declined, an opportunity Maroon 5 jumped in on. Not only that, the songstress refused to watch the event itself.

With that being said, Rihanna keeping her distance from the halftime show doesn’t need further discussion. One thing that Riri did discuss with ET is what fans should expect from her upcoming projects.

“Whatever I do is gonna be confident whether it’s the album, perfume, lingerie, makeup, or fashion,” she coyly says. Rihanna then teases, “Y’all gonna have to wait. Navy, I’m so sorry.”
