Miley Cyrus was hospitalized for a throat issue last month and found out that she had an issue with her vocal cords that she needed to have surgery for.

According to People, the singing sensation was already discharged from the hospital after a serious bout of tonsillitis last month. Cyrus discovered that she had another medical condition that needed to be operated before the year ended and that she would need to have a couple of weeks in silence.

This led to the Grammy nominee, who is in the middle of composing new music to take a break from performing and recording. People also mentioned that another source of theirs shared that Cyrus is doing fine and will be back next year.

Cody Simpson, the singer’s boyfriend has been keeping her company through this ordeal. A source says that the Australian singer will be there to make sure the singer recovers properly and keep her from getting bored. Simpson also shared a clip of the couple dancing after Cyrus’ brother’s wedding last week. The Australian singer also shared a black and white picture of the two of them with the caption ‘success’ referring to her surgery.

Matt Zeidman, Simpson’s manager who spoke in an exclusive interview with People shared that even though the two just started out dating, they have been friends for a long time now. Zeidman explained that the two met during their wild phases in their lives and are both sober and healthy, both focused in their work and spending time with each other.

Besides this blooming relationship between Cyrus and Simpson, there has been a bit of drama between the singer and her ex-husband when Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth unfollowed each other on Instagram, a source told RadarOnline. They reported that the act was ‘devastating’ for the singer. They shared that Cyrus thought that they would find their way back to each other and that Cyrus was holding on to that hope until Hemsworth unfollowed her and she translated this as his way of saying it was really over between the two of them.

The former husband and wife met each other while filming The Last Song and started dating after that for almost an entire decade with a lot of ups and downs in their long relationship until they finally tied the knot last year but again, separating last August after just eight months of marriage, seemingly for good this time.
