Kristen Stewart is letting fans take a sneak peek into her very past romance with Robert Pattinson. The pair who played lovers in the Twilight Saga before they took their on-screen relationship in real life.

In a cover interview featured on Harper’s Bazaar UK, the actress openly spoke about her reflection on fame and her very private relationship with Pattinson.

“When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by. So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours,'” Stewart says about why they tried their best to keep their previous romance out of the public eye.

The former couple broke up in July 2012 after Stewart was caught in an extramarital affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. While the two reportedly tried to reconcile later that year, they officially called it quits in May of 2013.

Stewart later came out as bisexual in 2017 as she entered her first public relationship in years with ex Stella Maxwell. “I think I just wanted to enjoy my life. And that took precedence over protecting my life because in protecting it, I was ruining it,” she says about going public.

The actress admits to receiving backlash for her sexuality having been told that she “might get a Marvel movie” is she stops showing her relationship with Maxwell in public. “I don’t want to work with people like that,” she says about the criticism.
