Jessie J is stepping back from social media once again. Her announcement comes just weeks after her beau Channing Tatum left Instagram to be “in the real world.”
The singer sites similar reasons to her boyfriends’ as she shares that she is taking a breather from the photo-sharing app. Jessie J made her announcement through a post she uploaded on Instagram writing, “Done it before. Doing it again. Having a break from the gram.” The reason behind the digital detox?
“To get out my phone and into REAL LIFE,” she explained. “I spend way too much time scrolling through some BS.”
But Jessie J doesn’t want anyone to have the wrong idea about her social media hiatus noting that she’s absolutely alright.
“For the record I’m OK. Happy, healthy and sane. People often presume to come off Instagram you are going through some s—. Lol. Actually, it’s the opposite. [I’m] in such a good place that I want to respect and nurture that looking up and not looking down.”
The songstress also revealed that she will be taking a pause from the gram to come up with new music. “Instagram is fun, but it isn’t real life, I’m off to write a new album. 🔋.”
But fans shouldn’t fret because Jessie won’t be gone for too long. She ended the note to thank her supporters and says she’ll “Be back soon.” She also encouraged people to try an “Instagram cleanse every once in a while.”
Looks like Jessie and Channing will be immersed in their own creative processes together.
