Halley Bailey on playing dream role as Little Mermaid’s Ariel

Disney’s decision to cast Halley Bailey to play Ariel in The Little Mermaid remake is a breath of fresh air. The talented 19-year-old is sure to give the live-action remake a zesty twist with her impeccable talent and jaw-dropping look.

Catching up with her on the red carpet of Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood gala held in Los Angeles, ET got some details about the exciting upcoming role. Halle walked the red carpet on Tuesday with her sister Chloe. “It means so much to me,” the Black-ish star tells ET. “I feel very honored and really grateful for the opportunity.”

Halle is half of the Grammy-nominated sister duo ChloexHalle. They were discovered by Beyonce and are now celebrated young artists in the music industry. “Ariel was one of my favorite princesses growing up so it’s a dream come true,” the 19-year-old songstress shared. “I’m very excited and happy.”

Her sister Chloe is absolutely supportive of her casting saying she can’t wait for everyone to see Halle’s talent which she gets to see every day. Chloe even says that she’s excited for the remarkable opportunity that has come Halle’s way as seeing her on-screen “means the absolute world to me.” She adds, “I am just so proud of her. It’s going to be really good.”

While ET tried to press Halle to give away more details about the upcoming remake, the singer successfully kept mum. However, she did note that she looks forward to singing the Disney classic “Part of Your World”.
