Fantastic Beasts 3 is about to start filming in 2020. Meanwhile, Jessica Williams will join the cast for the third installment of the series.

According to Deadline, Warner Bros already gave its go signal to start production for the third installment of the Harry Potter prequel series which is set to start filming in spring 2020.

The film is going to be directed by David Yates who directed the last five movies of the Harry Potter franchise. He will team up with producers, David Heyman, Lionel Wigman, Tim Lewis, Steve Kloves, and J.K. Rowling as well as with executive producers, Josh Berger, Courtenay Valenti, Neil Blair, and Danny Cohen. Meanwhile, J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves joined together to work with the film’s screenplay.

Most of the cast from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Crimes of  Grindelwald will be returning to the silver screen. Eddie Redmayne shall, of course, reprise his role as the Magizoologist, Newt Scamander; Katherine Waterston as the American Auror, Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as the charming and accomplished Legilimens, Queenie Goldstein, and of course, the Polish-born American No-maj, Jacob Kowalski.

Jude Law is also set to come back to give life to the young Albus Dumbledore together with Johnny Depp who will again play the role of Gellert Grindelwald and Ezra Miller who portrays Credence/ Aurelius Dumbledore.

In addition to the original cast, the news outlet reported that the comedian and actress, Jessica Williams, will play a bigger role in Fantastic Beasts 3 compared to her last appearance in Crimes of Grindelwald where she was featured briefly. She is set to play the role of Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks, a teacher in Ilvermony School fo Witchcraft and Wizardry, an American magic school counterpart of Hogwarts.

Like the first two installments of the series, the settings of the upcoming film of the Harry Potter prequel series is going to be exploring different culture from another continent. The first movie was set in 1920s New York City, the second film took place in Paris, this time, the series is going to take its viewers to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Who knows, maybe they will let the fans take a peek at Castelobruxo, the Brazilian wizarding school located in the Amazon Rainforest in the northern part of the country.

Initially, the latest installment of the series was to shoot last July, however, the team needed more time for its preparation.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to hit theatres on November 12, 2021.
