Brad Pitt, one of Hollywood’s bona fide movie stars, recently turned 56-year-old. Being the low-key man he is, the Golden Globe-nominated actor didn’t go for a big birthday bash this year. Instead, he kept his family close with an intimate celebration with his three youngest children.

First reported by E! News, the actor/producer’s soiree was held in his Hollywood home with only three guests. Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne — the kids he shares with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

An Insider told the entertainment news outlet, “Brad spent the day at his home in Hollywood … his younger kids stopped by for a visit.” His kids stayed back a bit longer after the celebration before they were escorted by a bodyguard back to Jolie’s house.

Pitt’s adopted children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara reportedly did not intend to attend the intimate family affair. Pitt and Jolie’s eldest son Maddox is believed to have a strained relationship with his father. Rumors of this surfaced as the ex-couple’s marriage broke down.

The source reports that Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne’s next visit to Pitt’s home will be on Christmas Eve. This is also based on Jolie and Pitt’s current visitation arrangements over their children.

“The kids will come over to Brad’s house and spend the day with him. They have some traditions where they eat and exchange gifts. They play music and just hang out,” the source detailed Pitt’s plans for Christmas. “Brad always wants to make it special for them and loves to see the excitement in their eyes.”
