What Lena Headey actually thinks of Cersei’s death in GOT

Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey confesses she isn’t happy about the way her character, Cersei Lannister, died in the series.

The British actress who portrayed the loathsome character recently went on the record with The Guardian. In the interview, she expressed her discontentment with Cersei’s demise admitting, “I wanted a better death.”

“Obviously you dream of your death,” she told the news outlet. “You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted.”

However, the actress said that it is impossible to please everyone, including herself, with a show as large of a scale as Game of Thrones. The actress said “But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb.” Watch Lena Headey’s journey as Cersei Lannister:

Fans of the show had wild theories as to what will go down in the series finale. One death that was shrouded with theories was Cersei Lannisters’. However, most of the show’s following were left disappointed when the iconic and loathsome character died trampled by a heavy pile of bricks. As a bonus, however, Cersei died in the arms of her brother and lover Ser Jaime Lannister played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Last month, Headey told Entertainment Weekly that she had mixed reactions to the end of Cersei’s storyline saying:

“I wanted her to have some big piece or fight with somebody.” It’s safe to assume that she speaks for everybody. Fans of the show have also weighed in on the issue with most feeling that the character didn’t get the death she deserved.
