If you have just finished watching season three of ‘The Good Place’ and feel completely lost now it’s over, you are not the only one.
The hit NBC/Netflix comedy charmed with its light-hearted take on the afterlife.The plot follows four humans Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) as they navigate the afterlife.
After multiple reboots, different realities and a second chance at life, season three ends with the group attempting to recreate Michael’s (Ted Danson) initial experiment.
The main characters have certainly been through a lot in three seasons and it appears that there is more to come. Fans can sleep easy knowing that season four has been confirmed. Here is everything we currently know about season four.
The release date
NBC first announced that they had renewed the series for a fourth season back in December 2018. Although there is no current set date for the release of the new season, fans can expect it to be on their screens sometime in 2019. There is speculation that the series will likely return in September 2019.
Number of episodes
As with the first three seasons of the show, season four is set to have thirteen episodes. Unlike many other Netflix shows, ‘The Good Place’ will again release episodes one by one each week.
Cast
It has been confirmed that all major cast members will be returning for season four of ‘The Good Place’. Therefore, fans will be seeing much more of all four humans, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason, alongside Architect Michael and artificial intelligence Janet.
So that is basically everything we currently know about season four, but what about the things we don’t know? Will fans find out the answers to these major questions?
Who are the new humans in the experiment?
In the final episode of season Tahani worked out that The Bad Place had selected four new humans for the experiment that already had connections with the original four back on Earth. The first two humans are John, a gossip columnist who wrote scathing articles about Tahani, and Simone, Chidi’s ex-girlfriend. This leaves two humans to join the experiment that probably have connections to Jason and Eleanor. Fans will have to wait for season four to premier to find out who they are.
Will Michael still be the mastermind?
Throughout the first three seasons, the neighbourhood has been run by Michael and the all-knowing Janet. However, in the penultimate episode of season three, Michael has a breakdown, forcing Eleanor to play the role of Architect. This leaves us all wondering what is going to happen when Eleanor’s human connection arrives in the afterlife.
Will Chidi and Eleanor get together…again?
The hearts of waters broke when it was revealed that Chidi would have to be rebooted so as not to ruin the experiment. So what does this mean for his relationship with Eleanor? If past experience is anything to go by, the two will find their way back together. But will ex Simone prevent this from happening?
It appears that fans will have to wait until later on in 2019 to find out the answers to these questions. One thing is for certain, though, fans are forking excited!
