Nowadays, we can’t deny the importance of having a website for business. It does not only make it easier for people to find a business, but it is also important for increasing brand awareness. Also, having a website will also make it easier for people to get to know your company. However, having a website alone sometimes is not enough.

You have to make your website legible and interesting at the same time. Why? That’s because that is what makes your visitors stay. The strong point of having a website is the mindset that knows that a website is never done even if you have launched the website. You have to “upgrade” your website’s quality from time to time, starting from its web design, development, even to its content.

However, there may be many mistakes that you may have done when designing your own website without realising it. Well, if that’s the case, you just need to re-design it, right? Here are the signs indicating that it’s time for you to re-design your website.

Your website doesn’t have important information about your company

People visit a company’s website in order to find information about that company, so that they can know what kind of company they are looking for. Also, the information provided on a company’s website is also important for that company’s credibility. If you don’t provide information about your company, chances are, your visitors will not be certain if your company is real or not.

Your website takes too long to load

I think most of us are impatient. We hate waiting and I’m sure you do too. When a website takes more than three seconds to load, visitors will gladly click the “back” button. If your website is taking too long to load, maybe it’s time for you to consider re-designing your website and find what’s wrong with your website.

Your website is not mobile-friendly

We all live in a world where everything should be practical. Browsing the internet using a mobile device is more practical than using a regular pc – that’s why people like it. However, when it comes to opening a website, the display you will get when viewing the website through desktop and mobile device will be different. Sometimes, what you can view on mobile devices will be limited and the size will be different. Some websites are not responsive in terms of size adjustment. The most important thing that makes a website considered as mobile-friendly is whether or not that website is responsive. If your website is not adjustable to any devices, then it is time for you to re-design it.

Your website is not legible

One part of a website that is very crucial in terms of legibility is its font sizes. One of the most common mistakes that makes a website flawed is the text that is too difficult to read, whether it is the wrong choice of typefaces, or it is the wrong choice of font sizes. If you want to make your website readable, make sure the body text is above 14px and all body copy is a Sans Serif font. That way, your website can be read easily in any device types even at small sizes.

Your website redirects user to new browser windows

Even I hate this one. When I open a website and they redirect me to another website without my consent. It is like being forced to marry someone you didn’t even love. Okay, that may be exaggerating, but it’s true. Maybe some of you have had the same experience, but did you know what damage it can actually bring to your device? Opening multiple browser windows at the same time will not only make it difficult for navigation, but it can also eat up bandwidth. This can ruin your visitors’ device and of course, their time too.

That’s the common mistakes in web design that can give negative impacts on your business. If your website has at least three similar signs to those mentioned above, then it is time for you to re-design your website for a better purpose and a better result.
