Ryan Seacrest to host ABC’s “American Idol” season 3

Ryan Seacrest isn’t going anywhere.

The television and radio show host will return to “American Idol” as the televised singing competition heads to its third season on ABC. News broke on the show’s official Twitter account addressing Seacrest’s official return.

In a statement to Variety, the host shared his excitement to return on the American Idol stage calling it his “home.” Read his full statement below:

“’American Idol’ has been my home for 17 seasons and I can’t wait to return to the stage. It’s the greatest gift to be able to play a part in discovering new talent with a franchise that has been such a relevant part of American culture for so many years.”

News of Seacrest’s return came a little late compared to the announcement of American Idol 3’s panel of judges which dropped back in August. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were all previously announced to return as judges of the show’s latest season.

Seacrest’s return is greeted with glee by avid viewers of the show who have seen him host American Idols since it aired back in 2002 on Fox network. It’s safe to say the singing competition just won’t be the same without his hosting prowess. American Idol’s newest season is slated for a US spring 2020 release date.

While waiting you can catch Seacrest on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” which he co-hosts and executive produce. With the holiday season nearing, you can also catch him host ABC’s annual this coming New Year’s televised special.
