Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have returned to Sydney on day four of their 16-day tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. It is their first trip back to Australia since their wedding in May.
The couple visited the iconic Bondi Beach this morning, where they enjoyed the scenery and sunny weather and chatted with locals. They also received an odd gift – a bunch of carrots – from a person dressed in a carrot suit.
The pair partook in an event at Bondi Beach with mental health organisation OneWave. Prince Harry got along well with founder Grant Trebilco. Harry spoke of the power in communicating and sharing mental health stories and experiences in order to break down the stigma around mental health.
The royal tour coincides with the Invictus Games in Sydney, an international sporting event for wounded and/or ill armed service personnel and veterans. The Games were created by Prince Harry with the intention of inspiring and encouraging recovery, rehabilitation and respect for those in the armed services.
The Duke is set to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge alongside Prime Minister Scott Morrison to launch the Invictus Games today by raising the flag. Many fans from 18 participating nations have gathered to watch the event.
The tour aims to focus on youth leadership, especially programs associated with social, economic and environmental issues.
Previously, the couple visited an all-girls high school in Parramatta, where they met with students involved with the NRL In League in Harmony Youth Advocate program. They also watched students perform a choreographed dance routine and share a presentation explaining their work on the program.
After arriving in Sydney on Sunday, they announced that they are expecting their first child in 2019. Meghan could be spotted with her emerging baby bump in press photos.
