Leonardo DiCaprio and his crew saved a man from drowning

Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio was on vacation with his girlfriend Camila Morrone and his buddies when a man had fallen overboard from a yacht.

On December 30, DiCaprio and co. rented a boat near St. Barts when they hear a call for an emergency search party for the man who was drunk at the time. People reports that the unnamed man fell from a Club Med yacht.

An insider tells the outlet that “Leo and his friends and their boat captain decided to join the search and their efforts resulted in helping save a man’s life.” If not for everyone involved in the rescue, the man’s life was in danger as he was treading water for around 11 hours.

“The boat crew were happy to try and assist — even more so that they were able to help get the man to safety,” the source added.

It just so happened that DiCaprio’s rented boat was the only one searching the waters where the man had drifted. After being spotted, rescue efforts were made in rough water and the man was saved just an hour before a heavy rainstorm began.

After the heroic rescue, DiCaprio was back in Hollywood a week later. He was preparing to attend the 77th annual Golden Globes where he received a nod for his performance in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. Taron Egerton ended up taking home the trophy Best Actor in a Motion Picture – musical or comedy.

His co-star Brad Pitt bagged Best Supporting Actor and made sure to give him a hilarious shoutout.
