Is Ryan Gosling joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Ryan Gosling was recently seen meeting up with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. The meetup has been sparking rumors that the Oscar-nominated actor might be the latest star to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Celebrity news outlet Just Jared was able to snap photos of the actor and the director meeting over lunch in Los Angeles, California. With Waititiā€™s lineup of upcoming films, itā€™s not hard to believe that Gosling might be on board to work with him. The director is, after all, still on the lookout for cast members for two of his films that are yet to start production.

As announced in the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con last month, Waititi will return to direct the fourth installment of the Thor franchise. So will we be seeing Gosling in Thor: Love and Thunder starring alongside Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson? We just might.

However, before the director gets down in dirty with his second MCU film, he will be working on Next Goal Wins. A non-Marvel film that tells the story of an American Samoa soccer team on their journey to victory. Itā€™s possible that Gosling may just play a role in that film too, so letā€™s not keep our hopes too high.

Gosling is one of the brightest stars in Hollywood with his versatility and acting prowess. The actor has worked on multiple film genres including romance, drama, comedy, musicals and many more. Heā€™s been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar twice in 2017 for La La Land and in 2007 for Half Nelson.
