Royal Adelaide Hospital
Dr Pravin Hissaria completed his MBBS and specialist training in clinical immunology in Lucknow, India. He migrated to Australia in 2003 and joined the Immunology Division of the IMVS as a senior registrar for specialist training. He was awarded the FRCPA in 2007 and FRACP in 2008. Dr Hissaria was appointed as an Immunology Staff Specialist at the IMVS and honorary consultant at Royal Adelaide Hospital in January 2008.
Dr Hissaria has received numerous grants and is Head of the Translational Clinical Research Laboratory in the Division of Human Immunology at the IMVS. His research interests include dissecting the molecular basis of pathogenic fibrosis in patients with scleroderma and detailing immunopathological characteristics (cellular and serum) in patients with scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis and chronic urticaria.
He has established and is custodian of an autoimmune disease tissue bank, which will help in the discovery and validation of novel biomarkers related to immune pathogenesis of these diseases. He has also authored several national and international peer-reviewed scientific publications and participates actively in various committees of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) including quality assurance programs and the e-Health task force.
Dr Hissaria offers a clinical service (public and private) to patients referred for assessment and management of autoimmune, immunodeficiency and allergic diseases. He is also actively involved in the pharmaceutical company-sponsored clinical trials of novel agents in the treatment of these diseases.

Dr Patrick Quinn is the representative for paediatricians on AMA(SA) Council. He is a paediatric allergist and clinical immunologist who has practices in North Adelaide and Beulah Park.
Dr Quinn is a senior lecturer in the paediatric program for fi fth-year MBBS students at the University of Adelaide, staff specialist, Department of Paediatric Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and private consultant allergist/immunologist in Beulah Park.
Dr Quinn is also an active member of the Australasian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (ASCIA) and a member of the ASCIA Paediatric and Immunodeficiency Committees.
