Dwayne Johnson is serious about a future presidential run

Many believe that if private businessman and TV star Donald Trump can become US president, then anyone can. Given this opinion, many people on social media have called for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to consider taking his own shot at the White House.

After a widely read Washington Post article asserted that Johnson had a good chance of winning if he campaigned, many people have urged him to consider it as a reality. Johnson himself has teased the idea in several TV interviews and late night talk shows.

Recently it seems the idea has become a genuine option for the 45 year-old ex-wrestler and film star.

Mr Johnson has recently said in media interviews that he is considering a run for US president, but not until 2024. Johnson noted that his acting career would be quite busy for several years to come, but may make a jaunt into politics as he gets older.

Johnson stated that he was listening to people’s sincere wishes for someone like him to “rock” the White House and would give it more thought as he listens to what future Americans have to say.

Johnson pointed out that the thought the current administration could be doing better in a number of areas but it is uncertain which political party he would throw himself behind if he chose to run for president. He is currently registered as an Independent and has attended Republican and Democratic conferences in the past.

In 2016 both the Republicans and Democrats requested endorsement from Mr Johnson be he refused. While Johnson believes in an economically and militarily strong United States he has spoken against bans that would restrict immigration.

This nuanced perspective on the political paradigm that contains both left and right wings is perhaps a reason why so many Americans are urging him to run for president.

Johnson pointed out in his interviews that he believed the controversial topics America is dealing with should be chances for the US president to learn more about the nation’s people. Johnson is a strong advocate of female empowerment and said he hopes the recent sexual misconduct scandals in politics and entertainment would create a better work environment for women.

Despite having somewhat middle-of-the-road answers to political questions it has been speculated that this would help him in a future election. Already being a very popular persona in Hollywood, Johnson recently received his own star on the Walk of Fame.

Polls show that Johnson is respected and liked by members of both US political factions. If he was to run for president it is likely he would be a hard candidate to beat for even the most experienced politicians.
