Newcastle Dance Academy is owned by Tracy Caldwell and Roxanne McCourtie.

They purchased a small studio in 1996 with 10 weeks of the year to go, they rented church halls and continued to grow and move around locations until 1999 when they moved to the Hobart Road premises. The June 2007 floods, like many people, caused much devastation to the property. They managed to battle on, but it was time for new premises. They purchased the Broadmeadow Glass and Aluminium building at the end of 2008 and in 2009 they opened the doors to the 5 studio purpose built complex that is now home to around 200 students.
