Dr. Hal Rice (MBBS, FRANZCR) obtained his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1992 followed by his internship and residency at the Royal Brisbane and Womenā€™s Hospital.

Hal completed his specialist training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Womenā€™s Hospital before undertaking an advanced specialist fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the world famous Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City in 2001 and 2002.

Since returning to the Gold Coast in Queensland Hal cofounded Qscan Radiology Clinics and also established the Interventional Neuroradiology Service at the Gold Coast Hospital which is now regarded as one of the premier sites in Australia for the endovascular treatment of life threatening brain aneurysms and acute ischaemic stroke. Hal has worked as a Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiologist at the Gold Coast Hospital since 2003 and has previously served as the Deputy Director of Medical Imaging.

Hal has major academic interests in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Head and Neck Imaging, Sports Medicine Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, non-invasive pain management and all fields of advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Hal is an accomplished speaker lecturing locally and internationally. He is actively involved in teaching medical students, allied health professionals, radiology trainees and other medical specialists. Hal is a current Neuroradiology Examiner for the RANZCR College Specialist Examinations. Hal is also a host of the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN) 13th world congress to be held on the Gold Coast in November 2015.

Hal is also actively involved with the College of Radiologists currently as a member of the Diagnostic Economic Committee (DEC), Continuing Professional Development Committee (CPD), Quality Use of Diagnostic Imaging Committee (QUDI) and the Queensland Radiologist Branch Committee. He has previously served as the RANZCR Federal Treasurer and a member of the RANZCR Executive Committee and the Federal College Council.

Dr. Darren Ault ā€“ A University of Queensland Medical School graduate, he completed his registrar training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital with further fellowship training in musculoskeletal and body MR imaging at Leeds General Infirmary and St. Jamesā€™s University Hospital in the UK.

His interests include all aspects of MR imaging with a particular interest in musculoskeletal and oncology imaging. Dr. Ault also has an interest in breast imaging and is a visiting radiologist at the Wesley Breast Clinic.

Dr. Ault has worked as a radiologist in private practice at the Wesley Hospital since 2001 apart from a six-month secondment to the UK as Clinical Director of Radiology at the Eccleshill Treatment Centre in Leeds-Bradford.
