“This is by far the best book shop in the country and maybe even the rest of the world. Massive range of books from every category you could possibly need. Some titles are available here that you can’t find online. The staff aren’t psychotic when it comes to reading in the store and help out whenever you need it. Travel all the way from Wollongong just to come here sometimes. I sincerely hope this place stays open for a long time to come even after digital books become the norm.” -Nicholas Dove
Abbey’s Bookshop – Nestled beside the Queen Victoria Building, Abbey’s Bookshop at 131 York Street has become an institution among readers and knowledge seekers looking for those hard to find books. Abbey’s remains a favourite of many of Australia’s academics and authors, politicians and lawyers.

“Reliable book shop that is also able to give student discounts (went to buy a language workbook). At the start of the semester the workbook was sold out but they let me know their estimated time of restock and I was able to save roughly $15 compared to my university bookshop.” -Qi Qi
